To set up IPTV on a Formuler box, open MYTV Online, go to Edit Service, and connect using one of three methods: a Portal URL with your device’s Formuler ID (MAC-based), an Xtream Codes username and password, or an M3U playlist link — all supplied by your IPTV provider. Once connected, your channels and EPG load automatically. This guide covers every connection method on classic Formuler models (Z1, Z7+, Z8, Zx, Z+) running MYTV Online and MYTV Online 2.

What Is a Formuler Box?

A Formuler box is an Android-powered hybrid IPTV and OTT set-top box made by South Korean manufacturer Focus Cloud, sold under the Formuler brand. Because it runs Android, it supports the Google Play Store, sideloaded APKs, and Formuler’s own dedicated app, MYTV Online (and its successor MYTV Online 2), which handles portal-based, Xtream Codes, and M3U IPTV connections natively.

This guide focuses on the standard Formuler lineup — Z1, Z7+, Zx, Z8, and Z+ — running MYTV Online or MYTV Online 2. If you own the newer flagship Formuler Z11, which ships with the redesigned MYTV Online 3 interface, use our dedicated FormulerZ11 setup guide via MYTV Online 3 instead — the menu paths and Content Manager layout are different. Formuler’s own hardware lineup and specs are documented on the official Formuler product page.

Unlike a generic Android streaming stick, the Formuler box is purpose-built for IPTV: hardware-accelerated H.264/H.265 decoding, a remote-friendly channel-zapper UI, and native compatibility with Stalker/Ministra-style middleware portals — the same protocol used by MAG boxes.

Before You Start: MAC Address vs. Formuler ID

This trips up more users than any other step, so read carefully. Every Formuler box has two identifiers:

  • MAC address — printed on the sticker on the underside of the box. Starts with a prefix like 00:1E:B8:XX:XX:XX.
  • Formuler ID (device ID) — what MYTV Online’s Portal connection method actually authenticates with. Always starts with 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX.

To convert: keep the last six characters of your MAC address and replace the first six (00:1E:B8) with 00:1A:79. You can also read the Formuler ID directly from the device: it’s shown on the Portal connection screen inside MYTV Online, or in Settings > Device Information. Give this ID to your IPTV provider — not the raw MAC address — only if you’re using the Portal (MAC-based) method. Xtream Codes and M3U connections don’t need it at all.

Three Ways to Connect: Portal, Xtream Codes, or M3U

Most competing guides only cover the Portal method, but MYTV Online actually supports three distinct connection types, and which one you use depends entirely on what your provider issues. RevoIPTV subscriptions support all three.

Method What you need from your provider Best for
Portal (MAC/ID) A portal URL; provider registers your Formuler ID on their end Providers using Stalker/Ministra middleware; no login required after setup
Xtream Codes (XC) A server URL plus a username and password Providers using Xtream Codes panels; easiest to move between devices
M3U Playlist A direct M3U/M3U8 playlist URL, often with a separate EPG XMLTV URL Universal compatibility; works on almost any IPTV app as a backup

How to Set Up IPTV on a Formuler Box via MYTV Online (Portal / MAC Method)

Make sure your Formuler box is connected to the internet and your subscription is active before starting. Need one first? Start a free IPTV trial.

  1. Install MYTV Online — open the Google Play Store on your Formuler box, search MyTVOnline, and install it. Many Formuler devices ship with it pre-installed.
  2. Open MYTV Online and wait for the home screen to load.
  3. Tap Edit Service, then tap Edit on the service slot you want to configure.
  4. Enter a Service Nickname — any label works, e.g. RevoIPTV — then tap OK.
  5. Enter the Portal URL — paste the STB MAG Emulator / Portal URL from your provider and tap OK.
  6. Leave username/password blank — Portal connections authenticate by device ID, not login credentials.
  7. Wait for the connection — the app contacts the server using your registered Formuler ID. First load can take 30–60 seconds.
  8. Browse your channels — once connected, your subscription’s full channel list and EPG appear automatically.

Setting Up Xtream Codes on a Formuler Box

If your provider gave you a server URL, username, and password instead of a portal link, use Xtream Codes mode: in Edit Service, select the Xtream Codes API tab instead of Portal, enter the server address exactly as provided (including the port number, e.g. :8080), then enter your username and password and tap OK. No device ID registration is needed with this method — it works immediately as soon as credentials are correct. Formuler’s official knowledge base has a full breakdown of MAC/ID, Xtream Codes, and M3U setup differences if you want the manufacturer’s own reference.

Setting Up an M3U Playlist on a Formuler Box

For M3U, select the M3U/URL tab in Edit Service, paste the full playlist link, and add the EPG XMLTV URL in the separate field if your provider supplies one — otherwise the guide will show no programme data even though channels play fine. M3U is the most universally compatible method but typically loads slower than Portal or Xtream Codes on large channel lists.

Tips for the Best Experience on Your Formuler Box

  • Use a wired connection — Ethernet eliminates Wi-Fi interference and materially reduces buffering on HD and 4K streams.
  • Double-check your ID with your provider — for Portal connections, confirm your provider has the correct 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX-format ID on file.
  • Restart after any provider change — if your provider updates your portal URL or credentials, force-close MYTV Online, update Edit Service, then relaunch.
  • Keep the app updated — check the Play Store periodically; Formuler ships regular MYTV Online performance and stability patches.
  • Match your internet speed to your stream quality — 10 Mbps minimum for reliable HD; 25 Mbps or higher for 4K or multi-room viewing.

Troubleshooting Common Formuler Box IPTV Issues

  • Channels not loading / blank screen — re-check the portal URL or Xtream server address for typos or trailing spaces. For Portal connections, confirm your Formuler ID is registered correctly with your provider.
  • Buffering or freezing — switch from Wi-Fi to Ethernet, test your connection speed, and ask your provider if an alternate regional server is available.
  • 'Service not authorised' or 'MAC not found' error — the ID your provider has on file doesn’t match your device. Re-verify the MAC-to-ID conversion and update it with your provider.
  • EPG showing 'No information' — this is a known MYTV Online quirk, usually tied to time zone or EPG offset mismatches rather than a broken subscription (see the electronic programme guide (EPG) standard for how this data is structured). Open Edit Service, check that the EPG update interval isn’t set too long, and if using M3U, confirm the separate EPG XMLTV URL is entered. Force-closing and reopening the app after a fresh connection also resolves most stuck EPG data.
  • Xtream Codes login fails but credentials are correct — double-check the port number in the server URL; Xtream panels commonly run on non-standard ports (8080, 8880, 25461) that are easy to omit by mistake.

FAQ

Do I need the MAC address or the Formuler ID to set up MYTV Online?

Use the Formuler ID, not the raw MAC address, and only for Portal (MAC-based) connections. The Formuler ID always starts with 00:1A:79 — replace the first six characters of your MAC address with those digits and give the result to your provider. Xtream Codes and M3U connections don’t need any ID at all.

Which Formuler box models work with MYTV Online?

MYTV Online and MYTV Online 2 run on all Android-based classic Formuler models, including the Z1, Z7+, Zx, Z8, and Z+. The newer Formuler Z11 ships with MYTV Online 3, which uses a different Content Manager interface — see our FormulerZ11 and MYTV Online 3 guide if that’s your device.

What’s the difference between Portal, Xtream Codes, and M3U on a Formuler box?

Portal uses your device’s Formuler ID, which your provider registers on their server — no login needed afterward. Xtream Codes uses a username and password against a server URL, with no device registration required. M3U is a direct playlist link that works almost anywhere but often needs a separate EPG URL for programme data. Use whichever your provider issues; RevoIPTV supports all three.

My IPTV channels aren’t loading on my Formuler box — what should I check first?

First, confirm the portal URL or Xtream server address is entered exactly as provided, with no extra spaces. Second, verify your Formuler ID (not the MAC address) is registered with your provider if you’re using Portal mode. Third, check that your internet connection is stable, ideally over Ethernet.

Why does my EPG show no programme information?

This is a common MYTV Online issue usually caused by time zone or EPG offset settings rather than a subscription problem. Check the EPG update interval in Edit Service, confirm the EPG XMLTV URL is entered if you’re on M3U, and restart the app after any change.

Can I use MYTV Online on a Formuler box without a subscription?

MYTV Online is free to install, but you need an active IPTV subscription that supports Portal, Xtream Codes, or M3U connections. You can try RevoIPTV free to test any of the three methods before committing to a plan.
